Metz Get Dressed: Show A Little Sleeve

Happy New Year everyone (and first day back to work post break)! I hope you celebrated well and rested well.

This is the first week of Metz Get Dressed. See how it works here.

The style prompt this week is to show a little sleeve. It’s still pretty chilly here in Ohio, so layers are key to any outfit. When layering your tops try pulling the lower sleeve past the top sleeve and rolling the lower sleeve up over or scrunch it around the top sleeve. This simple trick adds unexpected interest to your outfit.

My favorite way to do this is with a patterned shirt - stripe or plaid - under a sweater or a cardigan. This is a bit more of a casual outfit, but the concept is still the same. For this I rolled up the sleeve of the striped shirt over the grey sweatshirt sleeve and “tsuzuj-ed” it a bit (does anyone else remember Carson Kressley from the OG Queer Eye?). Essentially, I played with the styling of the lower sleeve a bit to keep it from looking too perfect and crisp. It’s fun too if the bottom layer peeks out around the neck line and at the bottom of your layers.

Now let me see what you create.

xx,

Linds
