Metz Get Dressed: Denim is More Than Jeans

And just like that it’s week five of Metz Get Dressed. If you are new here, check out how it works here and week one, week two, week three, and week four for styling ideas here.

This week I want to branch out from just wearing jeans to incorporate denim into my outfits. I love a good pair of jeans and honestly find myself saying, “I wish I could wear jeans to work more days than just Friday!” So to help me fuel my denim obsession, I am sharing how I style denim or even chambray during the chillier winter months.

I treat my denim jacket or my chambray top like any other item I would layer for warmth in the winter. For example, I layer my denim jacket (like in these photos) over a sweater and under a winter coat. This adds more texture to my outfit and an extra layer of warmth for me. Or I layer my chambray shirt under a sweater and show a little sleeve by rolling the chambray layer over my sweater. Again, this creates more visual interest and added warmth.

If your office is a bit more relaxed, you can always tie your jacket or shirt around your waist to add to your outfit. Unfortunately, I have to reserve this style for weekend looks.

Now it is your turn! I want to see how you style denim into your outfit without wearing jeans.

xx,

Linds
