Style Sessions: Paperbag Pants

As y’all know by now, I don’t have a typical office job, but that doesn’t mean I don’t need office-appropriate attire for potential client meetings or for when my employment situation changes. But here’s the thing, I hate dress pants. For far too long, I’ve tried to pass off black skinny jeans as work-appropriate pants. Which is embarrassing, but I don’t feel like myself if what would be business casual or business professional clothes.

However, the other day, I spotted these paper bag pants, and I felt an instant draw to them. They are made out of the softest material and can be work-appropriate, but at the same time have a more put-together look to them than traditional dress pants. I loved the idea of wearing them with a t-shirt and sneakers as much as I loved the idea of flats and a blouse or sweater. I immediately added it to my cart.

I love this look. It is the business professional look I’ve been after for years and years. I have a work trip at the end of October, and this will definitely be in my suitcase. This sweater tank is perfect for transitioning into fall especially if you live in an area of the country that won’t experience fall for a few more weeks (or months). These metallic shoes add a pop of interest to the simple black and white outfit.

I loved the idea of wearing these pants with sneakers and a t-shirt. This would be a great look for a more casual office or for a fun day date. Y’all know I consider leopard a neutral, so this shirt was a welcomed addition to my closet. I love it paired with dressier pants and comfy white sneakers for a more casual yet put-together look. I grabbed my denim jacket for the cooler mornings and evenings we are experiencing here in Las Vegas. Hot Tip: I ordered my denim jacket from the men’s section on the Madewell website. I followed the size guide and ordered my exact size and love the fit.

I wanted to share one look with the paper bag pants that was a bit more cold-weather friendly for all my ladies who don’t call the desert home. I love this sweater. Let me repeat: I LOVE THIS SWEATER. I have a serious problem with adding more grey sweaters to my wardrobe. I mean how many does one girl need? This sweater is so comfy and is a looser knit, so it doesn’t get too hot. I added leather mules to complete the look. You could wear this look to the office or for family photos or for future holiday get-togethers

I loved the idea of dressing these pants up for a night on the town and remember my post Beyond the Little Black Dress when I shared all-black options for bachelorette parties? Well, this outfit is right on target. This look was so fun to rock. I am trying to find an opportunity to wear it soon. Fancy a date, Brian? I mixed textures with my black velvet cami and the paper bag pants. Unfortunately, my top is sold out, but I linked two similar options. My earrings are Natalie Borton and not available at the moment, but be sure to watch her stuff because it is gorgeous.

Tell me, what’s your favorite look from the four I shared? Do you own paper bag pants? If so, how do you style them?

Have fun getting dressed!

xx,

Linds
