Earring Capsule

Last year for my birthday, I got my right ear triple pierced. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, but I just never prioritized it. So when I found Evolved in the Columbus area and noticed they do free piercings on your birthday, I knew I had to jump on it (And yes, I read reviews and did research before making the decision as well). I love the trend of mixing and matching earrings to create a new look every time and surprisingly, I’m pro the asymmetrical look of three lobe piercings on one side and two lobe piercings on the other. Who would’ve thought this wouldn’t bother my type A personality.

In recent years, I have made an effort to move more toward the idea of a capsule closet. I say idea because I do hate the restriction of a capsule closet. Or at least the feeling of restriction. I want everything in my wardrobe to be purposeful, worn multiple ways, and add more to my closet. And this has slowly started to trickle down to my jewelry. I’m wearing less and less costume and statement jewelry. Don’t get me wrong, I still love a big earring, but I don’t gravitate toward them lately. Once events become the norm again, this may change.

I was originally inspired to have an earring capsule when I stumbled upon Jewels & Aces. The entire idea is to curate an earring capsule with earrings and ear jackets. Before this, I hadn’t thought to mix and match my ear jackets with other earrings. But what a game-changer. I love this idea so much, so I purchased the solitaire studs, the stripe studs, the chain ear jackets, and the solitaire ear jackets. It has been so fun to mix and match earrings for new looks.

In addition to the Jewels & Aces earrings above, I’ve rounded up some of my favorite smaller hoops and studs to share with you as an earring capsule. Plus, I’ve added a few on my wishlist as well.

my go-to’s

Soko Horseshoe Studs | Due to the closeness of my first and second holes, I can’t wear these with an earring in my second hole, but I do love wearing one of these on my right ear and putting something fun in my third hole.

Ana Luisa Rox Mini Hoops |I love the shape of these hoops. They’re different than your traditional hoops and huggies.

Ana Luisa Suzanne Huggies | Who doesn’t love a bit of sparkle? I wear these huggies often in my second holes.

Madewell Demi Fine Huggie Mini Hoops | These were the first huggies I ever owned and I love them. Kind of like my gateway to the small earring stack if you will.

Madewell Gemaline Studs | I love these studs. I wear them in my cartilage piercing sometimes for a different look, but I love using them as a mini crawler in my last hole on each ear.

Maive Shop Texas Studs | Because no matter what, I can’t seem to let go of my Texas roots.

my wish list

Ana Luisa Pearl Huggies | I love the different take on the diamond huggies with pearls.

Sheena Marshall Sophie Studs | How cute are these gold ball studs? I need a good set to add to my collection.

Spike Huggies | Spike huggies have been on my list for a while, but I haven’t hit purchase just yet. I really love these and the seller has great reviews.

Madewell Delicate Collection Demi-Fine Heart Stud Earrings | Who doesn’t love love? These delicate heart earrings are so adorable.

Spike Ear Jackets | If the spike huggies aren’t your jam, maybe these spike ear jackets are more your style. And you can always add these ear jackets to other studs you already own.

Some of my favorite combinations have come from mixing and matching ear jackets with other post earrings. This is the best way to treat your earrings like a capsule wardrobe because you get more bang for your buck. And depending on how large the jacket is, you can totally take a simple pair of studs to a statement earring in no time.

How many times do you have your ears pierced? Do you always match on each side or do you go for different looks on each side?
xx,

Linds
