Style Sessions: Holiday Looks
Last week I shared my Thanksgiving menu, and today I am sharing some holiday looks for your Thanksgiving parties or get-togethers. I put these looks together with items already in my closet. Some of these items are new to me as I build my wardrobe and others are pieces from last year or more.
I partnered with Megan from Budget and Brunch and Adriana Kincaid from Love Thigh Self to put together holiday looks for you.. Be sure to stop by their Instagrams, @budgetandbrunch and @mrs.adrianakincaid, and blogs to see the looks they styled.
Fall holiday dressing is my jam. I love layering and jackets and boots. This style session could have gone on and on, but I had to stop myself from playing dress-up. :) Now on to the looks.
look one
sweater: similar and similar // jeans // shoes // purse
When I first set out to plan for this style session, I knew this sweater would be included. It is the perfect shade of green for the fall and holidays and it is so comfy. I wore it for mine and Brian’s first Christmas card we sent as a married couple. It is a couple of years old, but I linked a similar option. Since the sweater is oversized, I paired it with dark skinny jeans and since it’s not too cold in Vegas and we don’t wear shoes in the house I grabbed my brown mules. I finished the look with my leopard clutch.
look two
shirt // jeans // shoes // purse: similar
I love, love, love this look. Black and white is such an easy combo, and this flannel is just too good. I recently added it to my closet, but I see it being a staple for years to come with how soft it is and it’s versatility. This look is for a more casual gathering which is usually the dress code for my Thanksgivings. Come comfortable and ready to eat.
look three
sweater // top // jeans // shoes // purse
This look was a bit different for me (and hot I might add here in Vegas), but if you live somewhere cold layering is key. I’ve had this camel sweater for a couple of years now and it is a tried and true fave. It is made by one of my favorite brands and it’s made of the softest cashmere. It goes on sale every so often, so be sure to keep an eye out. I paired it with a striped turtleneck, but you can honestly put whatever color or pattern you want underneath. To keep my legs looking long, I paired black skinnies with black booties.
look four
sweater: similar // leggings // shoes // purse: similar
To be honest, I always want to wear leggings on Thanksgiving. A girl needs room for her stomach to fill up with food. I’ve had my faux leather leggings for a few years now and still love them as much as the day I bought them (currently wearing them on a layover in Chicago). I paired them with this loose-knit grey sweater and my new snakeskin booties which I think make this rather comfy outfit look like a million bucks.
look five
dress // tights: similar // shoes // jacket: similar // purse
On dark mode. Who doesn’t love a monochromatic black look? If you have a fancier shindig to attend this year, this all-black look is for you. This dress is so comfy and leaves plenty of room for turkey, stuffing, and pie. Plus it is on sale. The patterned tights make it fun and not solid black.
shirt // jacket and here // jeans // shoes
This is probably my favorite look for the lot (and Brian’s too). This white button-down is so crisp I love how it can polish a look and these jeans are such a great alternative to your traditional skinny jeans. I added my favorite suede moto jacket and snakeskin booties for some texture and to give the outfit some interest. Now, to find a purse to go with this look…
look seven
shirt: similar // joggers: similar // shoes // jacket
Lastly, if your gathering goes super casual or you go to the movies on Thanksgiving this last look is for you. It’s comfy without being sloppy.
Earrings are Natalie Borton and unfortunately, not available. But, she does have some items available on Madewell.com or when she launches another collection on her website I have a discount code for you.
So tell me, do you like these looks? What’s your favorite? Tell me in the comments.
