Style Sessions: Amalia All-Weather Boots

I am so glad I made the leap and purchased the Nisolo Amalia All-Weather boot. My friend Erin, @erin.v.stewart, purchased them in black and strongly encouraged me to give them a try. They truly fill the void of combat boots in my closet without being too combat-like.

Even though we haven’t been up to much, the few times I have worn them out of the house I’ve received countless compliments, and they are so comfy for long socially distanced walks. They required little to no break-in time which is a huge win. I love that they are all-weather which makes me worry less about them in the cold, wet Ohio winters. I purchased mine during the black Friday sale, and I can tell that these will be worth EVERY penny spent on them.

I have come to love Nisolo (I own three pairs of their shoes: the Amalia boot, the Huarache sandal, and the Classic Chelsea boot) because of the craftsmanship and their commitment to sustainability and ethically made goods. Every pair of shoes purchased provides a living wage to workers in a factory owned by Nisolo in Peru. They are continuing to push for living wages throughout their supply chain. AND each purchase helps fight deforestation in the Amazon Basin. How awesome is that? You can read more about Nisolo here.

I try my hardest to link my pieces or similar pieces where ever possible, however, if I can’t find something similar from a brand I trust or feel is quality there won’t be a link. I don’t want to recommend something of poor quality. We all work WAY TOO HARD for our money to spend it on pieces that won’t last.

Look One

This look is a bit out of my comfort zone. I love these straight-leg jeans and these boots, but the combo is not my go-to. However, I am pleasantly surprised by how much I loved this look. I tucked in a fitted black shirt to keep my waist defined since my pants aren’t as fitted. Also, I cuffed my jeans just enough so the entire boot is on display. Topped it with my camel peacoat. I used to detest wearing black and browns together, but now I love the look of different neutral tones.

Look Two

bodysuit // jeans // cardigan: not available // hat // boots

I feel like my country came out with this look when I topped this look with this amazing hat care of Hat Attack New York. I didn’t watch Yellowstone, but I’m feeling big Beth Dutton vibes in this look. I kept the look simple with a black bodysuit and black skinny jeans (I am old), added my favorite olive cardigan with the boots. I would rock this look without the hat, but this hat was just calling to be styled.

Look Three

skirt // sweater: similar // jacket // boots // socks

Like the first look, this was a bit out of my comfort zone. I don’t own a dress that works with the boots for winter, but I wanted to work a skirt option in with the boots to ensure they had more versatility. You’ve seen this look on the blog before here and here, so clearly it is a goodie. To add a bit of interest, I chose a higher sock, so it would peak out above the boots.

Look Four

This would be my go-to look for these boots. Mountain cabin chic, right? It gives me all the cozy vibes, and that is really what I want in life right now. There’s not much to explain about this look. Just my favorite graphic sweatshirt, my favorite beanie, comfy cozy socks.

What is your favorite look? Would you wear these boots?

xx,

Linds
